Potato Gratin

Resipi daripada my sis,Angah. Takde measurements, semua main agak2 ajer. Just cook it like you would normally do bolognese but minus the tomato paste.

2 kg potatoes-sliced about 1 cm and boil 3/4 cooked
1 kg minced beef
3 cloves garlic
3 yellow onions
bay leaves
italian or mixed herbs
sliced cheddar cheese
sliced button mushrooms (optional)

White Sauce
2 cans Carnation Evaporated milk
limau nipis/lemon
eggs

Method
The filling
  • Fry garlic and onions
  • Add minced beef
  • Add bay leaves and the herbs
  • Let it cook through
The white sauce
  • Squeeze limau nipis/lemon into milk to form "sour cream" or you may just use real sour cream
  • Add eggs to the mixture
Layering
  • In a caserolle dish, layer the meat filling first
  • Then layer with boiled potatoes
  • Then layer with cheese slices
  • Pour a bit of the white sauce to bind the layers together
  • Repeat until finish with the cheese at the top layer.
  • Bake in 180C oven for 15 minutes.
