2 kg potatoes-sliced about 1 cm and boil 3/4 cooked
1 kg minced beef
3 cloves garlic
3 yellow onions
bay leaves
italian or mixed herbs
sliced cheddar cheese
sliced button mushrooms (optional)
White Sauce
2 cans Carnation Evaporated milk
limau nipis/lemon
eggs
Method
The filling
- Fry garlic and onions
- Add minced beef
- Add bay leaves and the herbs
- Let it cook through
- Squeeze limau nipis/lemon into milk to form "sour cream" or you may just use real sour cream
- Add eggs to the mixture
- In a caserolle dish, layer the meat filling first
- Then layer with boiled potatoes
- Then layer with cheese slices
- Pour a bit of the white sauce to bind the layers together
- Repeat until finish with the cheese at the top layer.
- Bake in 180C oven for 15 minutes.
